| After more than a year of not bringing out any new releases and leaving the “Different” label, the first 12″ is now to appear on his own label “DAMAGE MUSIC BERLIN”, DMB for short. “The Heat Of The Night” clearly takes the former Kanzleramt flagship back to its original deep sound. This energy-laden dub-techno number is sure to make the dancers’ hearts beat faster, and to make them sweat – in the heat of the night… “It’s Been A Long Way” is a typical pushy Kowalski techno track that dares the tightrope walk between rolling basses and melancholic soundscapes. As for “Don’t Judge Me (Just Because I Like The Rave)”, the name says it all! This track is one of the smashers in the current KOWALSKI live sets and has already taken apart a number of clubs in the process. |

| A1 – „Reset“ | Alexander Kowalski Nobody will be able to escape the dormant authority of this number:The heavy, slow Groove and the powerful Dubs of this track capture you from the first until the last moment. With ‘Reset’ Kowalski pushes his controversy with Dubtechno from ‘The Heat Of The Night’, released on the first Damages, even further. The Grooves act like monoliths from another time, the precise, sharp Dubs create the mind-blowing, inexhaustible, rich atmosphere of a tropical rain forest. B1 – „Leaf 43“ | Extrawelt Originally Kowalski planned to produce all the tracks of Damages 02 himself. When Extrawelt gave him this track though, he immediately knew that there would not be a more perfect B-Side for this record imaginable. You can sense that Kowalski, Arne Schaffhausen & Wayan Raabe personally and musically really value each other when you hear how perfectly these two tracks are related.Extrawelt puts a casual, nearly ironic Groove and an earthquake-like grumbling Bass line into a surprisingly harmonic relation. B2 – „Leaf 43“ | Extrawelt (Alexander Kowalski Remix)“ With his Remix Kowalski creates an angry, raw Technotrack out of ‘Leaf 43′. The Groove is now wilder, more fidgety than in the original version:With a fierce desire to party it mobs the dancefloor, the bass line rips the concrete floor to pieces and 8-bit-sounds give the weird points. The Rave of this track doesn’t only pull your arms up in the air, it goes deep down into your bowels. |

| Damage Music Berlin is the label of Alexander Kowalski. Launched in the fall of 2009, DMB was set up initially for Alex to release his own productions. With a wealth of label knowledge and contacts from his time spent at the legendary imprints ‘Kanzleramt’ and ‘Different’, it wasn’t long (one release in fact) before Alex was receiving music, too good to turn down. Hence release 002 saw Alex’s productions siting alongside those of Extrawelt, on the ‘Reset / Leaf 43′ package. Today we bring you release 003, the mighty remix package of Dirty Doering’s ‘Loco’. Hailing from Leipzig, but residing in Berlin, Doering has run the infamous ‘Freizeitglauben’ record store for many years. Well known on the City’s scene, his DJ sets have seen him grace the decks of the finest clubs, as well as holding his current residency at BAR25. He was the co-founder of ‘AllYouCanBeat’ records, alongside Housemeister (bpitch) and now runs the digital ‘Rauschenbach Music’ imprint. The original of ‘Loco’ was previously released on ‘Rauschenbach Music’ last summer, backed by the fantastic Alexander Kowalski mixes. Being a fan of the release, Alex has now picked it up for a Vinyl release on Damage Music Berlin, and has drafted in two new producers to give their take on the original. First up is Scottish Techno don, and master of the melodic, Vince Watson. Renowned for his ability to create beautiful and regal compositions across the whole spectrum of electronic music, Watson is one of the most respected producers of our generation. 2009 saw him release on Planet E Communications, Delsin and Mule Electronic, as well as relaunch his much loved ‘Bio Records’. On ‘Loco’ we are treated to some classic Watson work. Layer upon layer of sounds, working together to sculpt the most beautiful of soundscapes. Delicate, yet ever so powerful, this is set to rule every festival stage and arena throughout the summmer and beyond. On flip we are first treated, once again to Kowalski’s stunning remix. A bevy of arpeggiated synths working together to wonderful effect, driven on by their collective power to create a huge wave of energy. Next up and with the second new remix is ‘d_func’. Taking us down a heavier, more industrial route, d_func explores huge kick-drums, wild synths and the heaviest of beats, for those that like the harder end of the scale. Rounding out the package is a the most beautiful of ‘Ambient’ mixes from Watson, and a treat of a ‘Dub’ from Kowalski. Overall a massive package of mixes and one that will se this release hit the charts and floors the most discerning of DJ’s. Enjoy! |

| Although the Damage Music Berlin label is still in its youth, the creative input is not holding its breath too long: after the success of the first three Damage releases, this issue presents a new 12EP that puts even more excellent and fresh urban breath into modern club music. First up is „What’s The Point“, a collaboration with label chief Alexander Kowalski together with Jake the Rapper.By teaming up with Jake the urban electronic guerilla, a cunning and highly-effective headbanging is produced, harvesting a moody and darkly infectious spoken text. “It all boils down“… what unfolds here is an intense yet uncluttered soundtrack surrounding a mystifying message of sexually metapysical proportions crafted and totally engaging. While kicking high-hats weave around the text, warbling chords probe, rise and fall, ultimately creating a compelling rhythm that rolls with effortless wicked charm. Following this is Kowalski’s „Friendly Fire“ that’s invites ardent curiosity from the first knuckled beats. What’s seems like an approaching minimal sketch procedes into building percussive tenacity, takes a sweeping lowtide pause and craftily lands in penetrating, grand Kowalski clubsound only he can build. Elegant in its rage and tense in its deep synergy. The EPs third entry „Friendly Fire (Dosem Remix)“ allows the Spanish crossover live artist Dosem to fuse and infiltrate some very diverse and polished ammendments into the track. Without a doubt the elegant basslines and concise layering invoke exhalted emotion, a dancefloor opus that certainly points towards a certain rave feeling. By inviting the groove down housier avenues and seamlessly raising and lowering the track’s temperature, Dosem’s remix designs a melodic landscape you quite seriously want to dance to. |
